Official Visit
An official visit is a campus visit paid for by the college: travel, lodging, meals, and event tickets. Each NCAA D1 swim recruit gets up to 5 official visits total, with a max of one per school. Official visits become available August 1 before junior year.
Official visits typically last 48 hours, include a meeting with the coach and team, a tour, and meals. The school can pay for travel for the recruit and two parents/guardians.
Coaches use official visits as the final step before extending offers. By the time you're invited on an official, the program has already evaluated your swim film and grades — the visit is to confirm the fit.
